"Invest in the human soul. Who knows, it may be a diamond in the rough."
Mary McLeod Bethune

Meal Service
The children attending Bethune are served a healthy well-balanced breakfast
and lunch as well
as a nutritional afternoon snack. All meals are served to the children under the Child Care
Food Program at no additional charge regardless of race, color, sex, handicap, or national
origin. There is no discrimination in the admissions policy, meal service, or the use of the
facilities.
The staff Dietitian plans menus and prepares meals. The Dietitian is required to attend USDA
workshops to stay informed on safe food preparation techniques. The Executive Director has also
attended workshops on the USDA program, and the Administrative Assistant will soon attend. In the
past, the Campbell County Extension Office has evaluated Bethune's food service program to measure
its' effectiveness. Bethune was commended for its food service operation.
